Abstract Purpose of Review The use psychedelics in a therapeutical setting has been reported for the treatment various diagnoses recent years. However, as psychedelic substances are still commonly known their (illicit) recreational use, it may seem counterintuitive to therapy treat substance disorders. This review aims discuss how can promote and intensify psychotherapeutic key processes, different approaches like psychodynamic cognitive behavioral therapy, with spotlight on disorders (SUD). Recent Findings There is promising evidence feasibility, safety, efficacy SUD. In whole process former current regimes that have shown be safe efficacious, elements, both well other approaches, identified, while substantial part assumed mechanism action, individual experience, cannot distinctly classified just one approach. Summary Psychedelic consists complex interaction pharmacological psychological processes. When administered well-defined conditions, serve augmentation psychotherapy interventions SUD mental disorders, regardless theoretical origin.
